DJ Philip has spent most of his life around music and entertainment. A musician himself, he grew up in a family of professional dancers and helped run one of Florida's historic music venues, giving him an understanding of live performance that started long before he ever stepped behind the DJ booth.

That background is at the heart of DJ Philip & The Forevers.

The concept starts with a great DJ set and builds a live music experience around it. Rather than replacing the original songs with live vocals, Philip leads a group of musicians who accompany the tracks in real time. Drums, saxophone, guitar, horns and other live elements can be layered into the music throughout the night, adding the energy and presence of a band while keeping everything people love about a DJ.

What makes it work is restraint. The musicians aren't there simply to play over a track. Every instrument has a purpose, and Philip's experience as a musician allows him to lead the group with an understanding of when they should play, what they should play and, just as importantly, when they shouldn't. The result feels intentional and polished, with the live musicians becoming part of the music rather than competing with it.

Behind the booth, Philip is fun, personable and completely focused on the people in front of him. There is no ego about what he wants to play. He listens to his clients, understands the atmosphere they envisioned and then uses an extraordinary range of musical knowledge to bring it to life. From current favorites and classics to Latin music, Greek music and everything in between, his goal is simple: honor the couple's taste and keep the dance floor full.
